Planned Development was the developer of the Heritage Lakes luxury home neighborhood and the Heritage Golf Club. In addition to the large section of land between Rome-Hilliard Rd and Alton-Darby Rd where the golf club and many homes now sit, Planned Development also owns about 300 acres on the west side of Alton-Darby Rd, straddling Davis Rd.

When opposition mounted to the placement of the 3rd high school on the "Grenner property" on Cosgray Rd, Hilliard Mayor Schonhardt took the position of recommending that the 3rd high school be placed on Davis Rd:

The owner of Planned Development, Dan O'Brien, was a valuable and respected participant in the development of the Brown Township Comprehensive Plan. At one point he showed us a preliminary site plan for his property which included land for the high school. The conversations between the school district and Mr. O'Brien were frequent, as noted in this log of meetings. However, when the Grener property was purchased, the district ceased negotiations with Mr. O'Brien, but indicated that it was still "very interested" in his property.

Superintendent Dale McVey has said that this land on Davis Rd was rejected as a potential site for the new school because of the frequent flooding that occurs, especially during the Spring rains. I wonder if he has toured the Walker Rd area after heavy rains?
